A new web-based ultrasound simulator to significantly improve students psychomotor skills requisite to produce US images

In a recent  study  conducted at Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV), Switzerland, by Prof. Jean-Yves Meuwlye, a leading scientist in diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology, Innoging’s new web-based ultrasound simulator found to increase substantial skills in the visuospatial and visuomotor fields for medical students. That experience, of self-learning ultrasound with an online, accessible simulation platform, that doesn’t require any installation has the potential to drastically reduce the barriers to use ultrasound simulation and potentially the costs of its use. Methods As part of the prepara t ions for the online course, 30 new scans were acquired by the university and used to create 56 exercises to match the course theoretical curriculum. The online course curriculum, created by Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV). iNNOGING Launches iNNOSIM, A Cloud-Based SaaS Ultrasound Simulator

To help ensure that ultrasonography studies do not cease as a result of   COVID-19 ,   healthcare simulation   software company, iNNOGING, introduced a new SaaS based simulator in November 2020. The cloud-based   ultrasound simulator   and e-learning platform, iNNOSIM, allows   medical simulation   training to occur at any time and from anywhere with customizable content, tests and curricula. This product provides clinical learners and practitioners the ability to practice real ultrasound simulation scenarios through use of the internet and without specialized equipment. Course material customization is made possible through iNNOGING proprietary technology and can be created by facilitators uploading real scans from any ultrasound device. All training content consists of real ultrasound scans, either from content provided with the system or the scans uploaded by users. The solution is able to support hundreds of simultaneous users and includes b...

Ultrasound Simulation 5G

Image
Preface An ultrasound simulator is a great tool for improving students understating of sonography, anatomy, and pathology. Using real ultrasound machines for teaching ultrasound, where students practice on each other is of course the gold standard, nothing can beat the real thing. Although the lack of: enough equipment, image quality consistency, ability to examine pathologies, and student privacy concerns makes it challenging. Most ultrasound simulators in the market are heavy, bulky, or require hardware that students can’t take home. With the COVID-19 situation were lot’s of universities all over the world have been shut down and moved to teaching with Zoom, it made ultrasound practicing not accessible. At Innoging, at the very beginning, we decided never to compromise on two key elements: ease of use (both for teachers and students), and of course image quality. That’s why we made our simulator completely web based — no installation required, where any number of students can p...
