A new web-based ultrasound simulator to significantly improve students psychomotor skills requisite to produce US images
In a recent study conducted at Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV), Switzerland, by Prof. Jean-Yves Meuwlye, a leading scientist in diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology, Innoging’s new web-based ultrasound simulator found to increase substantial skills in the visuospatial and visuomotor fields for medical students. That experience, of self-learning ultrasound with an online, accessible simulation platform, that doesn’t require any installation has the potential to drastically reduce the barriers to use ultrasound simulation and potentially the costs of its use. Methods As part of the prepara t ions for the online course, 30 new scans were acquired by the university and used to create 56 exercises to match the course theoretical curriculum.
